LINE Chat to PDF, Right in Your Browser
Save a LINE conversation as a readable document instead of collecting screenshots. Export a text file, open convokeep, and drop it into the page to see a dated PDF preview. Your messages stay on your device throughout conversion. Start with the file you already have, or follow the phone and desktop routes below.
What you get
The PDF presents messages in date order with their sender and time. Search for a word, narrow the date range, redact individual messages and rename participants before saving. A group chat can become one document, with names that are easier to follow than a stack of captures. The free preview contains the first 3 pages with a watermark and no integrity page; the full export is paid.
A LINE text export preserves the words available to the exporting device. Stickers, photos and voice messages appear as labels rather than playable content. Keep any important media separately. A PDF cannot restore messages that are absent from the source, so compare the earliest and latest dates before choosing your final range.
Step-by-step export
- iPhone or Android: open the conversation, open its top menu, then Settings → Export chat history. Save the resulting .txt through the phone's file or sharing options. Japanese clients may show トーク設定 → トーク履歴を送信 (needs verification); Korean labels may include 대화 내보내기 (needs verification). Menu wording varies by version.
- Windows or Mac: open the chat in LINE's desktop client, open the chat menu and choose Save chat. Pick a folder. Only messages currently displayed in that chat are saved, so do not assume the desktop file reaches the beginning of the conversation.
- Saved the file on your phone? Move it to your computer. Copy it over USB, or use email or a cloud drive you trust. Download the actual .txt attachment rather than copying the message into a new document.
- Open convokeep and select or drag in the .txt. Check sender names, day boundaries and the oldest message before adjusting the PDF.
LINE's text-backup guidance distinguishes a readable text export from a restorable backup. Keep your normal LINE backup too if you want to move chats to another phone. For missing email attachments or a longer walkthrough, read how to export a LINE chat. A Telegram export uses a different format and should remain a separate file.
Privacy
convokeep builds the preview and PDF entirely in your browser. No chat or attachment is uploaded. No convokeep account is needed. Cookieless events exclude message text, participant names and file names. Read the privacy policy.
Email, cloud drives and separate exporters have their own data handling. For a local file transfer, use a cable. convokeep's browser-only promise covers conversion.
Keepsake vs Record
Keepsake uses a book-style layout for memories and printing. Record adds page numbers and an integrity page alongside sender and time information. That page contains the source SHA-256, transcript SHA-256, counts and generation time in UTC. The finished PDF's hash is supplied separately.
A matching hash lets you check unchanged bytes against a trusted earlier value. It does not prove the source conversation is authentic or complete. Read the disclaimer and the integrity-hash explanation.
FAQ
- Does this work for LINE group chats?
- Yes. Export the group conversation as a .txt file, then check the participant names and dates in the preview.
- Are stickers and photos included?
- A text export represents media with labels rather than the original pictures, sticker artwork or playable recordings. Keep those files separately.
- Will the other person be notified?
- Export is not known to notify the other participant, but this has not been verified for every app version. Check your version if the answer matters.
- Which languages and scripts print correctly in the PDF?
- Latin (including Polish, Czech, Turkish, Hungarian and Romanian letters), Greek, Cyrillic, Korean, Japanese (kana and common kanji) and common symbols. Right-to-left scripts (Arabic, Hebrew), Thai, Devanagari and rare Han characters are not supported yet: the app warns you before export and the PDF prints them as a box and lists them on the integrity page.
- Is the conversion free?
- The first 3 pages are free to preview with a watermark and no integrity page. Saving the full PDF is a one-time paid purchase.
