What to Do With Your LINE Evidence Before Giving It to a Lawyer
A general summary of what you can prepare yourself before a consultation. What to submit and in what form differs by case, so follow your lawyer's instructions first.
Not legal advice. This page is general information. Whether a court admits or relies on a chat is for the court; convokeep does not promise admission or any outcome. Ask a qualified lawyer about your case.
What should I do first?
Do not delete chats. Before changing phones or reinstalling the app, send the chat history as text and keep it as the original. For the steps, see How to send LINE chat history.
How do I keep the original?
Do not open the exported file and save it again; work from a copy. Noting the date you sent it and the device makes it easier to explain.
Do I need screenshots?
A screenshot keeps only part of the screen and can make the surrounding flow hard to follow. Ask your lawyer whether you need them. For a comparison, see Are screenshots evidence?.
How do I make it easy to read?
A PDF with dates is easier to read in time order. Check whether other people's names or unrelated parts need to be covered before you submit.
What should I tell the lawyer?
A consultation goes more smoothly if you have a memo of the facts in time order, the names of the people involved, the original chat exports, the PDF and the file recording the hash values.
What does the hash value show?
That the file has not changed since the export. It does not show that nothing was deleted or altered before the export. See What a hash value tells you.
Where can I ask?
Houterasu (Japan Legal Support Center) is a general guidance desk. We cannot promise any result.

Ready to try it?
Drop your exported .txt file on the convokeep app for a free preview. The first 3 pages are free (watermarked, no integrity page); saving the full PDF is a one-time paid feature. No chat or attachment is uploaded: the file is read in your browser. To check later that a file is unchanged, use the hash checker.
