Export WhatsApp With Media for Submission: Keep It Together
WhatsApp offers an export with or without media. Photos, voice notes and documents matter in some disputes. This page explains how to keep them together with a text record.
Not legal advice. This page is general information. Whether a court admits or relies on a chat is for the court; convokeep does not promise admission or any outcome. Ask a qualified lawyer or a local advice service about your case.
Should I export with media or without?
Without media gives a smaller text file and is enough for a PDF of the conversation. With media adds the attached files, which can be large. If the media itself matters, export with media or save the files separately. Check WhatsApp's current help page for limits, since they can change.
Will the media be inside the PDF?
Do not assume it. convokeep builds the PDF from the chat text file; check in the preview how attachments are shown. Keep the original media files alongside the PDF.
How do I keep it all together?
Put the exported text file, the PDF and the media files in one folder. Do not rename or edit them. A short note listing the chat name, export date and who exported it helps later.
How do I match a photo to a message?
The text export shows when an attachment was sent. Write down the time of each file you rely on and keep the original from the phone, which often carries more information than a screenshot.
Is a hash useful for the media?
You can calculate a SHA-256 for each file now and keep the list. It will show later whether a file has changed since you calculated it. It does not show the file was authentic to begin with. See what a SHA-256 hash proves.
Privacy
The file is read and the PDF is built in your browser. No chat or attachment is uploaded and there is no account. Hashing happens locally too. Read the privacy policy and the disclaimer.

Ready to try it?
Drop your exported chat file on the convokeep app for a free preview. The first 3 pages are free (watermarked, no integrity page); saving the full PDF is a one-time paid feature. No chat or attachment is uploaded: the file is read in your browser. To check later that a file is unchanged, use the hash checker.
